Notwithstanding the specific content of IGCSE Biology , students are required to demonstrate their understanding of the fundamentals of the subject yet at the same time , demonstrate an appreciation of the evolving nature of the subject in the context of the environment in which experimental evidence is carefully monitored . In this respect scientific skills and the development of proficiency in the same by students , will as the other sciences form a central pillar for progress.

The skills developed will open up learning pathways for students interested in further studies at A-level.
