Programme Validation In order for a programme of study be approved by the board and lead to a CEB validated award the following criteria must be met: That the title of the award should give an accurate specification of the awards position with reference to the NQF and in addition accurately state its content . That goals of all proposed awards should be realistically and clearly stated. That all intended outcomes of the programmes of study should be unambiguously expressed in terms of understanding ,knowledge ,competences and skills. That the structure and content of programmes of study be such that the intended learning outcomes,objectives and aims be achievable. That the assessment methods to be employed in the programmes are suitable in terms of assessing range of skills competencies knowledge and understanding .That the assessment techniques satisfy the dual requirement of appropriatness and fitness for the purpose. That the assessment criteria employed takes full account of the intended learning outcomes and is able to differentiate accurately on a candidate to candidate basis .Further and in addition such criteria must be capable of being consistently applied. That the recording of achievements of candidates and the result of all assessments is able to cover the whole spectrum of outcomes within the programme of study and give a clear picture of the performance of the candidate whilst engaged in the programme. In order to satisfy the validation criteria all Institutions will be required to supply the board with detailed information relating to the criteria and demonstrating on a day to day basis how all principles are achieved in reality. Institutions which are able to satisfy the boards validation criteria will be able to offer a CEB validated award for the approved programme of study.
